For more than 15 years, wildlife photography has been at the heart of my life.

What began as a childhood fascination with the natural world grew into a lifelong passion for observing, understanding, and photographing wildlife. Today, through Nature with Nick, I have the privilege of sharing that passion with others, helping people discover the incredible wildlife and landscapes that make Devon one of the UK's most rewarding places for nature lovers and photographers alike.

Over the years, my photography has been recognised through a number of awards and exhibitions. I was honoured to be named Overall Winner of the BWWC Competition in Scotland and to receive Highly Commended in Mammal Photographer of the Year. My work has also been published in Devon Life and Permaculture Magazine, exhibited at Barnstaple Museum, and featured annually through Devon Open Studios.

As a member of Devon Artist Network and North Devon Arts, I remain actively involved in the region's thriving creative community, continually seeking new ways to share the beauty and importance of our natural world.

While I enjoy photographing a wide variety of wildlife, I have a particular passion for badgers and Britain's fascinating mustelids. Few experiences compare to spending time observing these secretive animals in their natural environment, learning their behaviour, and capturing those fleeting moments that tell a story. It is these encounters that continue to inspire my photography and deepen my connection with nature.

Nature with Nick was founded from a simple belief: that nature is best experienced when shared. I wanted to create opportunities for others to enjoy the same excitement, wonder, and sense of connection that wildlife has given me throughout my life.

Whether you're a complete beginner, an enthusiastic wildlife watcher, or an experienced photographer looking to refine your skills, my guided experiences and workshops are designed to be welcoming, informative, and inspiring. I focus on much more than camera settings and techniques. Together we'll explore wildlife behaviour, fieldcraft, observation skills, and the art of telling stories through photography.

My groups are intentionally kept small, allowing me to provide personalised guidance and create memorable experiences tailored to your interests and abilities. My goal is not only to help you capture better photographs but to help you see nature differently — to notice the details, appreciate the connections, and develop a deeper understanding of the wildlife around you.

Nothing is more rewarding than seeing someone photograph a species for the first time, gain confidence in their abilities, or leave with a renewed appreciation for the natural world.

I believe that every encounter with wildlife has the power to inspire curiosity, creativity, and conservation. Through Nature with Nick, I hope to help others experience that inspiration for themselves.
