Exmoor. 'Raptor Ridge', Moorland River and Iron Age Fort

Fixed price of £150 for 1 person

then £100 per extra person.

Walk *** moderate (rough ground, tracks, some steep slopes)

Join me on this walk alongside the river Barle, through countryside and moorland to the Iron Age hill fort Cow Castle. Look out for buzzards, stonechats, red deer, Exmoor ponies, dippers and goosanders on the river.

For the brave, a chance for a dip in the river pool beneath this ancient monument (not compulsory and bring a towel and swimming gear if you fancy it!) There is a chance at the right time of year that we will see Atlantic salmon in the river pools.

The day includes a side excursion to 'Raptor Ridge' to look for red kites, buzzards, and short eared owls. Time permitting we might do this twice (once in the morning and once in the afternoon).

Coffee and tea and light refreshments throughout the day (bring a packed lunch)

Pick up and drop off at accommodation listed. All transport and guiding. Free use of binoculars if required.
